I visited Broad Pool for the
first time in August 2012 after a tip from a Flickr
contact solely for the Moorland Hawker, a species which is less
than common in Hampshire.
Broad Pool is a large pond on the mountain road
from
Cillibion to
Reynoldston on the Gower Peninsula west of Swansea. Besides the main pool there is a smaller,
kidney-shaped pond to the north-west and several small
satellite ponds across the road to the south-east.
All are worthy of exploration, as are the wooded margins further south.
