As the name suggests, Britains most widespread damselfly.
Found in most water bodies and surrounding heaths, meadows and woodland.,
garden ponds, public parks, old gravel workings etc.
Males usually appear in small groups over water,
appearing to hover frequently. Females oviposit in
tandem with the male with several pairs often sharing
the same log or other pond detritus.
Both sexes
can be seen away from water among grasses, in bushes,
trees etc.
