I visited Swinley Forest after reading reports of Brilliant Emerald sightings.
This large area of woodland and valley mire is surrounded by urban sprawl and is used as a country park for the receation of the surrounding population, but once you get away from the crowds there are some glorious woodland ponds and hidden boggy rides to explore.

The first of these ponds is Mill Pond, a semi-wooded pond bordered by wet valley mire, while further south is Rapley Lake. Both are ideal spots for the Brilliant Emerald.
